GAGE FIXTURES
Fixturing accurately
positions the part as it is measured.
Inspection fixtures are:
 | Easy to use: The
fixture guides part placement. Repeatability is enhanced because the operator does not
touch the part during gaging.
|
 | Reliable: Gage probes,
indicators, or lasers measure each part at the same exact place. This improves gage
reproducibility.
|
 | Fast: All dimensions
are displayed at the same time. Just place a part in the fixture, record the measurements,
and remove the part. You're done within seconds.
|
 | Accurate: During
design, sensors are selected with the needed accuracy. Probes with resolution down to 1
micron are available.
|
 | Cost effective:
Fixtures minimize cycle time and eliminate the need for special operator skills.
|
 | The tools of the 21st century:
Electronic gages can automatically download data into computers where SPC software helps
you quickly identify production problems. |

Past Projects
 | Automated electronic shop floor gaging system to inspect 26 features
on Ford Windstar front-end cradle for Dana Corporation in Canada.
|
 | Electronic gaging fixtures to simultaneously check 56 features per
door panel on all four doors of the Oldsmobile Aurora for the Delphi plant in Livonia,
Michigan.
|
 | Electronic gaging fixtures for production inspection of automotive
valve covers. One gage to check the flatness at 22 points of an irregularly shaped seal
groove and check a boss height at 8 points. Used with a second gage to check the width and
depth of the groove in 8 locations and the X,Y location of 4 holes.
|
 | Developed and installed Columns [+] Plus gaging software for real time collection and
analysis of data from digital or analog process outputs such as gages or
fixtures with multiple LVDT probes. Networked over 100 gaging work stations.
|
 | Developed Gage R&R software for multiple
characteristic analysis.
|

Variable and attribute type inspection fixtures, including automatic
in-line gages, have been built for numerous customers including:

Let us help you meet your quality goals.
Send drawings or specs identifying critical dimensions and
a scrap part as an example of your products. We will be happy to quote the cost of either
building just a gage fixture or installing a total system.
